BIOGRAPHY
Jonel Powell is the Managing Partner of Grant, Powell & Co. and the Managing Director of its affiliate entity Gibraltar Trust Company. A lawyer by profession, Jonel hails from the Caribbean twin island federation of St. Kitts and Nevis.
Jonel obtained an LLB from the University of the West Indies (Cave Hill) in Barbados and a Legal Education Certificate (LEC) from the Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica. Before establishing Grant, Powell & Co, Jonel worked in the British Overseas Territory of Anguilla for several years.
In May 2015 Jonel was appointed Ambassador at Large of St. Kitts and Nevis in the Ministries of Sport and Culture. In June 2015 he was appointed a Justice of the Peace (JP) by the Governor General of St. Kitts and Nevis His Excellency Sir S. W. Tapley Seaton GCMG CVO QC JP.
